LPM Wants All Parties To Unite Against The Postponement Of The Municipal Elections

Must Read

Rama Valayden and his colleagues of Linion Pep Morisien are already organising the protest against the postponement of the municipal elections. The platform has invited all parties, both parliamentary and outside Parliament, to a meeting this evening to discuss the issue. “We need to come together to try to change things and defend democracy,” said Rama Valayden. For him, there is no question of remaining quiet while the government is blithely violating democracy. For the time being, only the PTr, among the parties represented in Parliament, has responded to the call of Valayden. The MMM and the PMSD have not yet said yes.

The big question is what the city councilors elected under the PMSD banner in the 2015 election, will do. In 1979, with the implementation of the Husnoo Amendment, MMM councilors resigned from the municipal councils at the end of their term and the government took the decision to postpone the municipal elections.

Rama Valayden of Linion Pep Morisien, who is preparing a mobilization against the postponement of these municipal elections, wrote to the leader of the PMSD to ask him to push the municipal councilors of this party to submit their resignation.
