A sum of Rs 500,000 and jewelry totaling Rs 900,000 were taken from a safe in the home of a Terre Rouge lawyer. The theft took place in the bedroom of her father, a gynecologist. Her home is equipped with a surveillance camera system. The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Terre-Rouge was seized with the case.
The 43-year-old lawyer made a statement to this effect at the Terre-Rouge police station on the afternoon of Thursday June 8, this after she had noticed the disappearance of this sum of money and her jewelry, which was kept in a safe in her father’s bedroom.
A team of police officers led by CID Inspector Neetish Ramburrun, under the supervision of Assistant Superintendent of Police Jankeeparsad Buchoo, raided the lawyer’s home on Route Royale, Terre-Rouge, to examine the premises.
