Jason Heerah is currently preparing a second album with the Otentik Groove band. Entitled La Famille, the album is expected in early September. Prepare yourself for an array of styles ranging from seggae, reggae to world music.
Attention music lovers. Your ears are sure to love Jason Heerah’s next album. And for good reason, the opus promises to be colourful… local: “There will certainly be reggae, seggae and world music, but I was inspired a lot by the five years I have been living in Mauritius to concoct this album which will be released in early September.
However, the making of the album was not easy: “It’s an album that was made during the confinement. The band members had a studio at home and recorded their parts before I put the album together. It was a real challenge and in the end we are very happy with the result.
Jason is also on a roll with the release of Alicia Keys’ film Resort to Love, which was shot in Mauritius. “Out of 12 submissions, two of my songs are in that film. They are Kifer to pale danse and Soley pou leve – a duet with Justice Lecoq. It is a recognition of my contribution to the advancement of local music says Jason Heerah.
