The Rivière Noire resident was escorted under heavy police guard from Beau Bassin prison to the airport. He was handed over to representatives of the Réunionese authorities who had made the special trip to Mauritius. Nono left Mauritius at around 1.30pm on flight MK 228. In fact, two Mauritian police officers accompanied Nono on the plane to Reunion Island. Once at Roland Garros airport, the Mauritian officers handed Nono over to the gendarmerie.
As a reminder, he will be held in Domenjod prison in the north of Réunion. He appeared before the court in St Denis before being brought to jail.
As a reminder, Nono and his friend Jean Hubert Célérine, alias Franklin, were sentenced to 7 years in prison in 2021 by the Réunionese courts for drug trafficking. However, at the time of sentencing, they were not on the island.
Hence the extradition request from the French authorities!
