In a press release, the director of the Nundun Gopee Group announced that he was abandoning the hotel development project at Anse La Raie. Avinash Gopee explained that this decision was the result of the numerous attacks that he and his company had suffered.
In the face of the proliferation of what he describes as “highly politicised slander”, Avinash Gopee says he has decided to abandon the tourism development project at Anse La Raie.
He also says that he reserves the right to take legal action and even demand the reimbursement of the substantial deposit paid to the authorities to secure the reservation of the land in question.
He insists that his group had taken all the necessary steps with the relevant authorities, including the Economic Development Board. Hence the fact that it has obtained a Letter of Reservation for the land in question.
