Horse Racing (Meeting 9): Colour My Fate Will Be Hard To Catch

Must Read

Trainer Amar Sewdyal can snatch a prestigious win a Group 2 race with Colour My Fate who can make it from pillar to post. His opponents will have to finish strongly if they want to beat him on the 1500m on Saturday at the Champ-de-mars racecourse.

Colour My Fate is a very consistent horse. He has won four victories and placed on five occasions during his nine outings in 2021. Colour My Fate won his first race of 2022 easily beating Kamadeva by 2L over 990m. This powerful front runner tried everything on the third race meeting over 1400m, but was caught at the end by Frosted Gold. Triple Fate Line finished third in this event, but 1.90L behind Colour My Fate.

The Amar Sewdyal-trained hors will start from the gate number two and he will have a golden opportunity to hit the front easily. He is back after a good rest, and he is in superb physical condition. The other contenders will have to be strong to beat him over the distance he signed his first victory in Mauritius in September 2021.

Undercover Agent and Alyaasaat will be the main dangers. Undercover Agent was quite disappointing on Race Meeting 6 when he finished fifth at 3.80L from Crank It Up. He needed that run and he showed more in training after this first outing. He is a classy horse that won Group 1, 2 and 3 races last year. He can be right there this time. Alyaasaat is back after seven months. He ended up at the Rameshwar Gujadhur stable after Gilbert Rousset’s closed. Alyaasaat is a strong finisher who will be advantaged if there is a hot pace. He runs well after a long rest. He won on his first outing in 2021, and he can do it again. Triple Fate Line will also be a tough opponent. He had a great 2021 season with four wins, and he did his best on first outing of 2022 finishing third behind Frosted Gold and Color My Fate. He will race behind the leader once again and he can turn the tables with with Brazilian jockey Andre Luiz Da Silva in the saddle. The champion horse of 2020, Patrol Officer did not win in 2021. He finds the competition tougher in the higher categories. He remains a very good competitor who can finish in the trifecta.

Sélection: Colour My Fate, Alyaasaat, Undercover Agent.
