Winner on his last race, Blackburn Roc will try to confirm his recent victory in the main race of Saturday at the Champ-de-mars racecourse. He will have to be wary of Seattle Kid, Absolutist, Your Pace Or Mine and Afdeek.
Since joining yard of former jockey Samraj Mahadia, Blackburn Roc seemed to have blossomed. He is showing a better form.
He took two second places and a convincing victory on the 24th day this season. He is a very good finisher, and he has got a good draw. Blackburn Roc will be the horse to beat. He can snatch his fifth win in Mauritius if he is not the victim of “traffic problems” during the race.
Blackburn Roc has beaten Your Pace Or Mine has beaten the last time. But Your Pace Or Mine is in a good shape, and he will be dangerous if he manages to set the pace in front.
Afdeek is a 12-time winner. A hell of a horse that continues to delight champion trainer Ricky Maingard. He is in top form, and he will rely on his strong finish to try and make it 13.
Absolutist is back in his category after competing against better horses in races of higher merit ratings. The trip is perhaps too short, but he showed that he progressed a lot this year. He can win in this field.
Seattle Kid is a consistent horse. He will carry the bottom weight. He can turn the tables if he enjoys a good trip and if he has a clear run in the final straight.
