Firemen and members of the Special Mobile Force (SMF) have been requested in several parts of the country because of the accumulation of water. Indeed, the island has been heavily rained over the last two days.
The National Emergency Operations Command (NEOC) is still on alert and ready to respond at any time.
A heavy rainfall warning was in effect in Mauritius from noon on Monday 27 December before being lifted at 7pm.
However, the weather station in Vacoas predicts that the weather will remain cloudy until Tuesday, December 28 with showers in the afternoon in some parts of the island. The sun should make its appearance during the day tomorrow.
The central part of the country recorded the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours, especially in New Discovery with 120.4 mm of rain. The Providence area recorded 105.0 mm of rain while at the SSR airport in Plaisance 80.3mm of rain.
