Testex is opening an office in Mauritius. This world leader in ecological testing and certification is based in Zurich in Switzerland. It looks forward to work with textile manufacturers found in the region as it considers them as having a proven track record in international export in apparel and having demonstrated their strength and resilience by attracting significant investment overtime. In a press release published two weeks ago, the management of Testex revealed that Mauritius and Madagascar are the first two countries that have been chosen to host Testex offices because of the size and importance of the textile sector in their economies. Mauritius and Madagascar become the first two countries in Africa in which the Swiss group will be branching out in Africa.
Testex is not new to the region. It held several events in Mauritius in the past. One of which is a seminar in 2014 themed “Towards More Sustainable Textile and Apparel Production in Mauritius” alongside the defunct Enterprise Mauritius. With a wide range of testing services and certifications namely Oeko-Tex products such as Standard 100, STeP and Made in Green, Testex believes it can enable Mauritian and Malagasy apparel manufacturers to boost their credentials to continue to sell to American and European consumers who are becoming increasingly environmental conscious.
Testex has 28 branches worldwide that employs 300 persons.
