Grays and Foodwise: 4 Tons Of Food For The Poorest

Must Read

Grays is continuing its efforts to help the Mauritians most affected by the crisis, notably through its collaboration with Foodwise, an NGO whose objective is to bring food security to the poorest families. During the period from April to June, 3,932 kilos of food, or 15,726 meals, were redistributed to 24 NGOs working in priority areas across the island thanks to Grays and Foodwise.

“We are delighted that our commitment to Foodwise continues to bear fruit, but also to be part of the national effort to support the most vulnerable of our fellow citizens. While we now see the light at the end of the tunnel with the reopening of borders and the beginning of an economic recovery, we must not forget all those who continue to suffer in silence, often on empty stomachs. The fight is far from over because the consequences of the crisis will still be felt for a long time to come, especially by these families,” says Bٞérengère Lombart, Brand Manager – Food of Grays.

For its part, the Foodwise team says that Grays’ donations “have been a real springboard for the NGOs we work with and our beneficiaries. It has given them the financial, physical, and emotional support they need to reach their potential. We are extremely grateful to have the trust and support of Grays. We are in a post-confinement situation where inflation has brought thousands of Mauritians to their knees. Ensuring food security is increasingly difficult, and solidarity is more essential than ever to face this challenge.

The collaboration between Grays and Foodwise is expected to grow even stronger soon, as the company remains firmly committed and willing to contribute to the national solidarity effort.
