Car Accident in Grand Bois

It was around 4:20 am on Sunday morning, May 14, that police officers from the Rose Belle police station were called to the Grand Bois traffic circle for a road accident. These policemen had to notice that the traffic circle and an electric pylon were damaged. A grey Kia car landed in a field of cane. The car was coming from Nouvelle France and was driving in the direction of Plaine-Magnien. All indications are that speed was the cause of this accident. The driver would have lost control of his vehicle just before the traffic circle and hit an electric pylon before ending up in this field of cane after having done several rollovers.

Yashveer Basenoo was found unconscious in the cane field and was pronounced dead by a doctor of the Samu. It was the men of the Mauritius Fire and Rescue Service who extracted the driver and the passenger from the car which was a pile of scrap metal. They were transported to Rose Belle Hospital on board this ambulance of the Samu.
