After his arrest, Jean Hubert Celerine was brought before the Court of Bambous for provisional indictment for money laundering. The ICAC objected to his release on bail, citing the fact that he might flee and interfere with evidence. Franklin was remanded in custody. All indications are that he will be taken to ICAC for further questioning. Yatin Varma and Alexandre Leblanc are the lawyers of Franklin.
Ritesh Sembhoo also was remanded to police cell. He is suspected of being one of the accomplices of Jean Hubert Célerine, alias Franklin. Ritesh Sembhoo was arrested yesterday. This morning, he was taken to the ICAC for questioning and before being taken to La Gaulette for a search in his house. The house has been valued at about Rs 50 million. Ritesh Subhoo, is considered to be the nominee of Jean Hubert Célerine, alias Franklin, Ritesh Sembhoo has been provisionally charged with money laundering. The ICAC objected to his release on bail, and he has been remanded in custody. He will be back at the ICAC premises this afternoon. They have spent the night there.
