Must Read

International Gabonese striker and Barcelona forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and his wife were physically beaten and robbed on Sunday night in their house in Barcelona’s suburbs.

Local media stated that at least four hooded men forced their way into the striker’s house at around 1 am. They were carrying firearms and bars. The hoodlums tied Aubameyang and his wife’s hands and made them lie on the floor for as long as an hour.

The aggressors requested the couple to open the safe before leaving the house with their valuables which include luxury jewels. Aubameyang and his wife were already robbed two months ago but at that time, they were luckily were out of their house. Although both were lightly hit by the armed men, they refused to go to the hospital instead wishing to stay with their children present at the time of the attack.

Spain has seen burglaries being committed at various footballer’s houses. In June, six people were taken into custody during an investigation into the burglary committed at the house of legendary former Brazilian forward Ronaldo, where Paris Saint-Germain player Marco Verratti lived in Ibiza. Spanish press estimated the loot to be around 3 million Euros. In August, new Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski was robbed of his watch in broad daylight while signing autographs.

Aubameyang’s thieves have not been caught as of yet. The player joined Barcelona in the winter transfer period last year, but is soon tipped to leave for Chelsea in the English Premier League.
