Extra-Marital Relations: Killer Lover And Victim’s Wife Brought To Court

Mohamad Afzal Subdar, 31 years old, was obstructing his wife Muniirah Bibi Areefah Subdar, born Mukada, 22 years old, from having extra-marital relations with her cousin Muhammad Usaamah Allumsaib, 32 years old. The latter who lives in VRS L’Avenir, Saint-Pierre then eliminated him in the evening of Saturday, July 2 in Pailles. He took him on his motorcycle to this place under the pretext that to recover money from an individual. There, he stabbed her before burying her body. The two lovers who were arrested were brought before the court of Port-Louis this Monday morning, July 11. Muniirah Subdar is facing a provisional charge of complicity, while Usama Allumsaib is facing a provisional charge of murder. They were taken back to the police cell.

This murder case against the backdrop of an extramarital affair was solved on Saturday evening, July 9, by investigators from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Metropolitan Police and the Divisional Crime Intelligence Unit (DCIU) of the same division. Muniirah Subdar, who was questioned at length, finally confessed to plotting with her husband’s cousin, Usaamah Allumsaib, 32, with whom she was having an extramarital affair, to get rid of her husband. The body of the latter was dug up at the foot of a hill at Bonnefin road in Pailles during the day of Sunday July 10. The Subdar couple who has three children was in a bad way. They had been living separately since last February.

This case began with a case of disappearance that was reported to the police station of Plaine-Verte around 7:20 pm on Sunday, July 3. Gorabhaye Subdar, 62 years old, a general worker at the Mauritius Meat Authority and living on Maurice Poupard Street, Plaine-Verte had reported his son Afzal Subdar missing from the same address.

It is on the basis of certain information that the police officers of the CID of the Metropolitan Police of the northern division summoned the wife of the victim to be subjected to a tight interrogation. Muniirah Subdar was soon to confess to plotting to have her husband’s cousin Usaamah Allumsaib disappear.

These investigators then went to the police station in Quartier-Militaire to interrogate Usaamah Allumsaib. He was detained there for a case of domestic violence against his mother. Usaamah Allumsaib was confronted with the allegations made against him. The thirty-year-old was asked to confess to stabbing his cousin and burying his body in the Bonnefin area of Pailles. He recounted the circumstances under which he lured the deceased to this location, which he knew from his residence in the Camp-Chapelon area.

The Major Crime Investigation Team was alerted and the next morning they conducted a field investigation with their colleagues from the CID to find the body. After the body was unearthed, it was transported to the morgue of the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis for an autopsy. The autopsy, performed by Dr. Prem Chamane, Principal Police Medical Officer, attributed the death to a Stab Wound to the heart.
