End Of The Year Clean-Up: Young People Get Involved Too

Must Read

At the end of the year, many Mauritian families are cleaning their houses. This phenomenon is intergenerational as more and more young people are also getting involved.

Nishta Jootun

Wesley Meunier – 25 years old – is the youngest of a family of two children and is the head of operations at this time. For him, it’s a habit since he was 17 years old: “The end of year chores I like to do since I was 17. Since my parents are old, I prefer to take care of them to spare them a little.

In the young man’s home in Bambous, the famous silverware shines as well as the windows and doors: “The glasses and other utensils that adorn the silverware have been carefully washed. The glass of the doors and windows are also clean. Now all I have to do is wash the terrace to welcome 2022 in all cleanliness.”

At the moment, we have already changed the curtains and all the major cleaning has been completed. The only thing left to clean is the bathroom.
