Emirates To Serve The Dubai To Mauritius Route Twice A Week

Must Read

Emirates’ iconic A380 aircraft touched down in Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport earlier, last Thursday. The airline will deploy its double-decker aircraft on the Dubai to Mauritius route twice a week to serve market demand. The Emirates A380 experience remains a favourite amongst travellers for its spacious and comfortable cabins.

Oomar Ramtoola, Emirates Manager for Mauritius and the Indian Ocean Islands, said: “We are very excited to welcome back our iconic Emirates A380 aircraft to the island-nation. Mauritius is a very important market for us and we remain committed to supporting the country’s trade and tourism industries.  We thank our partners and local authorities for making this happen and we look forward to continue flying our customers safer and better on Emirates.”

Arvind Bundhun, Director of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, stated: “We welcome the arrival of the A380 as double good news. Firstly, this means that Emirates believes in the Mauritian destination. Since the beginning of the pandemic there are few airports who welcome the A380, the biggest passenger aircraft, due to the low volume of travellers. Emirates is confident that traffic will be generated, and this is in line with the booking trends in our hotel sector for the tourist high season. The other good news is that travellers emanating from our source markets, including Europe and other countries, have more options to come to Mauritius safely. The configuration of the A380 allows for a safe flight at a time where sanitary protocols may be seen as a hurdle to travel”.

Emirates’ flights to Mauritius will operate on Thursdays and Saturdays. Emirates flight EK 701 will depart Dubai 2:35hrs and arrive in Mauritius at 9:10hrs local time. The return flight will operate on Fridays and Sundays. Emirates flight EK 704 will depart Mauritius at 23:10hrs and arrive in Dubai at 5:45hrs local time, the following day.

As international borders reopen and travel restrictions ease, Emirates continues to expand its network safely and sustainably, currently operating passenger services to over 120 destinations. Customers can enjoy convenient and seamless connections to the Americas, Europe, Africa, Middle East, and Asia Pacific via Dubai.

Keeping the health and wellbeing of its passengers as top priority, Emirates has introduced a comprehensive set of safety measures at every step of the customer journey. The airline has also recently introduced contactless technology and scaled up its digital verification capabilities to provide its customers even more opportunities to utilise the IATA Travel Pass this summer.

Emirates continues to lead the industry with innovative products and services that address traveller needs during a dynamic time. Recently, the airline took its customer care initiatives further with even more generous and flexible booking policies, an extension of its multi-risk insurance cover, and helping loyal customers retain their miles and tier status.
