The manufacturing sector employs the most foreigners (20,029). Construction comes second, with 10,527 expatriates and agricultural industry third (around 1,200 expatriates). Indians and Bangladeshis have the right to vote in Mauritius as Commonwealth citizens. To be eligible, they ought to have stayed in Mauritius for 2 years, be over 18 years old and be fluent in English.
