The first drone show took place on December 31 at Club Med Albion. It was a first in the Indian Ocean. But what is this technology signed DigitX Technologies Ltd (DTL)?
A more ecological alternative to traditional fireworks. This is how to describe the drone show. But this technology that comes from China is much more complex than that, as Manveesh Seenauth – the director of DTL – explains: “As the name suggests, a drone show is an aerial light show performed by drones perfectly synchronized with each other. Once the design of the aerial ballet is complete, the drones perform it automatically. In case of any eventuality, a team of technicians can intervene at any time. Depending on the design, a ballet can be performed with up to 4000 drones. For the show at Club Med we used 150.
According to Manveesh, this type of show goes off without a hitch: “Of course, zero risk does not exist in any field. But it is extremely rare that there are problems with the aircraft when they are in flight. Moreover, if it is the case, our team will intervene quickly.”
The drone show would be in the near future, a more ecological alternative compared to fireworks: “Other countries like London and Dubai are adopting it because drones are more environmentally friendly because they do not pollute. Before long, I am convinced that Mauritians will eventually adopt it.”
