The former Prime Minister is undergoing treatment at the All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences, in New Delhi, India. On this Saturday, he has received special attention from the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
He is still admitted to the ICU but it seems he won’t be there for long. If all goes well, he may be admitted to a normal ward as he is becoming less dependent on ventilated oxygen. His condition is considered more stable and much better. Since his admission, he has not developed any further complications.
There was a surprise for him on this Saturday morning where the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi had a bouquet of lilies sent to Dr Navin Ramgoolam with a card on the letterhead of the Prime Minister’s Office with a handwritten note bearing his signature, “Shri Navin Ramgoolam… Wishing you a speedy recovery, Narendra Modi“.
Dr Navin Ramgoolam posted the surprise on his Facebook page Ramgoolam Gen-Next and wrote, “On this pious day of Ganesh Chaturti, I was deeply touched to receive a handwritten get well card and a beautiful bouquet of flowers in my room from Prime Minister, Modi Ji. It means a lot to me. Thank you, Incredible India, thank you for all your prayers and good wishes.”
Call for a hold on fake news
Patrick Assirvaden did not hide his anger at the latest news circulating on his leader. “I spoke to him today. He is fine and his treatment must continue. It’s slanderous to see some rapacious people pouncing on a sick person and spreading fake news about Dr Navin Ramgoolam, with the sole aim of destroying the Ptr,” he deplored at Sir Satcam Booell’s Samadhi in Vallée-des-Prêtres, for a wreath-laying ceremony.
