Rs 3 million. This is the market value of the synthetic drug discovered at the home of Trivedhan Moorgawa, alias Veer, aged 24, at Manilall Doctor Street in Le Hochet, Terre-Rouge. It was during a raid by the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU) of the Metropolitan Police in the afternoon of Wednesday, February 15, where a clandestine laboratory was dismantled. 543.12 grams of synthetic drug and all the equipment used to prepare this drug were seized.
It is based on certain information of the implication of this young man in illicit activities and after hours of surveillance that the house of Trivedhan Moorgawa was searched at about 14:30 on Wednesday, February 15 by these police officers of the ADSU, led by Inspector Jean and Sergeant Conhyedoss. Three plastic bags containing synthetic drugs, a printed paper wrapped in tissue paper containing particles of leaves suspected to be synthetic drugs, a plastic container with particles of the same drug, a resealable plastic with particles of this drug and an electronic scale were discovered in one of the rooms of this house transformed into a laboratory. A motorcycle of the brand Pulsar 200 of black and red color belonging to Trivedhan Moorgawa was also seized.
The suspect was taken to the Abercrombie Division ADSU office on St. Croix for questioning. The seized exhibits were later transferred to ADSU Headquarters at Central Barracks. Trivedhan Moorgawa was taken into custody at the Piton police station. This Thursday, February 16, he was brought before the court of Pamplemousses. After his appearance, he was taken back into custody. Trivedhan Moorgawa’s home has been searched in the past when he was suspected of drug trafficking.
