As soon as Buckingham Palace announced the death of the Queen of England early on Thursday 8 September, heads of state paid tribute to the monarch and her 70 years of reign.
“Deeply saddened”, Pope Francis paid tribute to her “dedication” and “unshakeable witness to faith in Jesus Christ”. The death of Queen Elizabeth II has caused a huge wave of emotion around the world, especially in Britain.
Queen Elizabeth II leaves a great void, she was so loved by British people and many had only known her on the throne. Throughout her life, she was able to preserve the monarchy in spite of the crises. Many in the media still remember the Queen’s visit in 1972.
