Cycling : Championnats Nationaux De Contre-La-Montre : Christopher Lagane And Black River SC Make The Show

The individual and team time trial national championships were held this weekend in Cote d’Or. Christopher Lagane won his seventh time trial title in the elite category, but in the team event, Black River SC-CSI Energy defeated the defending champion, Faucon Flacq SC-KFC-Pepsi.

And that’s seven for Christopher Lagane. Faucon Flacq SC-KFC-Pepsi’s Christopher Lagane retained his individual time trial title last Saturday, June 18, in Cote d’Or in a time of 22:59 for the 18.4 km. He beat Alexandre Mayer of Black River SC-CSI Energy (23mins 10secs) and Aurélien De Commarmond of Vélo Club des Jeunes Cyclistes de Curepipe (23mins 31secs).

The champions of the other categories in individual time trial are : Samuel Quevauvilliers of Faucon Flacq SC-KFC-Pepsi (junior), Samuel Dupuy of Académie Nord-Terra(cadet), Aurélie Halbwachs of Moka Rangers SC-ENL (female 17+).

Championnats Nationaux De Contre-La-Montre

On Sunday, Black River SC-CSI Energy with Alexandre Mayer, Jordan Lebon, Grégory Mayer, Hanson Matombé and William Piat turned the tables by winning the team time trial over a distance of 36.9 km in a time of 47 minutes 22 seconds, five seconds better than the defending champion, Faucon Flacq SC-KFC-Pepsi.

Faucon Flacq SC-KFC-Pepsi with Christopher Lagane, Dylan Redy, Thibault Marrier D’Unienville, Samuel Queveauvilliers and Kelan Ciprisse finished second in 47 mins 27 secs while Vélo Club des Jeunes Cyclistes de Curepipe with Thierry David, Aurélien de Commarmnond, Torea Celestin and Jérémy Raboude took the bronze medal in 49mins and 59 secs.
