Covid 19: Asymptomatic Positive Cases On The Rise

Must Read

And here we go again… a rise in Covid positive cases. Even if asymptomatic, the Ministry of Health reports 253 cases and 5 admissions for treatment at ENT Hospital in Vacoas. Several cases have been recorded in schools and at the detention centre in Moka

An infected teacher leads to the closure of the Cœur Sacré de Jésus School on Pamplemousses road in Port-Louis. The case was discovered and soon after announced at around 10 a.m., parents were informed to collect their children. The school was closed for disinfection and will reopen on Monday 16 August. The College de Notre Dame in Curepipe will also reopen on Monday 16 August. Other closed schools include Petit Raffray Government School, Surtee Sunee Government School in Vallee Pitot, Manilall Doctor SSS in Lallmatie, Shrimati Indira Gandhi SSS in Quartier Militaire, Adolphe de Plevitz in Grand Baie and Notre Dame de Lorette RCA.

At the detention centre in Moka, there was panic after three inmates have been tested positive and symptomatic. A disinfection exercise took place this Thursday. Three is the number of the day. However, everything hints for more cases not yet discovered. There is no confirmation yet on a possible test on the other inmates and officers.
