A must-attend event, the Chinatown Food and Cultural Festival returns. Organized by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Mauritius, the festival intends once again to give pride of place to Chinese cuisine: “This year, Mauritians who come to the festival will be spoilt for choice with our 26 stalls dedicated to catering. On the spot, the public will have the right to traditional boiled and fried mines, Chinese cakes and other equally succulent dishes,” explains Cedric Ah Chuen, president of the festival this year.

In addition, once again, the cultural aspect has not been forgotten: “In addition to local artists who will perform on stage during the two days, we have also called on Malaysian artists who will offer musical entertainment and a show of bian lian (editor’s note: change of masks.),” said Cedric.

Note that the festival will start at 5 pm on May 27 and will end at 11 pm. The next day, it will welcome the first festival-goers from 11:00 am. This 16ᵉ edition will close on May 28 at 23:00.
