An investigation was initiated by the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT) of the Central Criminal Investigation Department (CCID) and the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Bambous to investigate the circumstances under which John Steeven Louis, a 31-year-old helper, drowned at the La Ferme à Bambous Reservoir. The body of this resident of the village was recovered around 11:30 am on Tuesday morning, July 26. An autopsy performed by Dr. Ananda Sunnassee, Police Medical Officer, attributed his death to asphyxiation due to drowning.

The funeral of Steeven Louis took place this Wednesday, July 27 at 11 am. After the funeral ceremony at the church of Saint Sauveur, Bambous, he was buried in the parish cemetery.
