No press conference of the Alliance de l’Espoir. The MMM held instead an interactive debate in Ébène on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The theme was “Equality today for a sustainable future.” It was an opportunity for Paul Bérenger to give an overview of the international news. “Women and children are always the first victims of wars and difficult situations,” he said, referring to the conflict in Russia and even the fate of the Palestinians. He unequivocally condemned the Russian aggression. “We demand a ceasefire as soon as possible. We demand that the Russian army leave Ukraine as soon as possible,” he said.
During a workshop organised by the women’s wing of the MMM on the occasion of the International Women’s Day, the leader of the party Paul Berenger spoke for the well-being of women in Mauritius. Indeed, he is asking for an amendment to article 16 of the Constitution in order to ensure that women’s rights are being respected the way they should in the country.
This workshop took place at the Hennessy Park Hotel, in Ebene, this Saturday morning, March 19, 2022. During this workshop, Paul Bérenger also highlighted the dangers and difficulties the country is going through nowadays and sent a special request to the feminine force to lend a hand for help.
