Must Read

The police were informed of an unusual case on July 17. A 38-year-old mother, a street vendor residing in Petit Gabriel, was informed by a third party that her 2-year-old daughter had swallowed several “Valium” tablets. The baby was taken to the Mont Lubin Health Center for immediate care and treatment, before being transferred to the intensive care unit of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Creve Coeur for further treatment.  As of Monday, July 19, his condition was completely stable, according to the attending physician. The “Valium” pills were seized by the police at the scene. Nevertheless, several questions arise from this case. Valium’ is a sleeping pill also known as ‘Diazepam’ and is considered a psychotropic drug. How is it that this baby had access to this medication? Was she unsupervised at the time of the incident?
