Australian Open Champion: Djokovic Has Beaten Mauritian-Born Enzo Couacaud

On Thursday 19th January, nine-time Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic has beaten France’s Enzo Couacaud in four sets at Rod Laver Arena. In the final set he was able to beat him 6-0, winning the match in four sets 6-1, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2, 6-0.

But Djokovic paid credit to the Mauritian-born player for putting up a fight. “It was a lot happening in tonight’s match, Enzo deserves credit for a fight,”Djokovic said after the match.

“He played some great tennis, especially in the second set,” he said. The Serbian star and No. 4 seed said he was able to respond well in the third and especially the fourth set.

Novak Djokovic has come back after a dramatic tiebreaker and an injury scare to win the third set against Enzo Couacaud. He came back to beat Frenchman 6-2 in the second set, and took a moment to thank someone in the crowd for telling others to be quiet.
