Athletics: Youth Combined Events: Yohan Murden And Louisiana Hattenberger Emerge

The first day of the Youth Combined Events was held last Saturday, March 25 at the Maryse Justin Stadium in Reduit. The athletes participated in quadrathlon mode (4 events) and in this challenge, Yohan Murden and Louisiane Hattenberger proved to be the most versatile.

This competition, which serves as preparation for the CJSOI Games to be held in Mauritius next December, attracted twenty girls and thirty-one boys. The latter competed in the 100m, long jump, shot put and 400m while the girls had on the menu the 100m hurdles, shot put, high jump and 200m.

In the boys’ competition, Yohan Murden made the biggest impression with a time of 50.08 seconds in the 400m and 11.30 seconds in the 100m. In the long jump, he jumped 5m51 and in the shot put, he threw 8m27. In total, Yohan Murden scored 2471 points and was ahead of Loïc Elsie (2262 points) and Sébastien Bellah (2026 points).

In the women’s field, Louisiane Hattenberger largely dominated both races with a time of 15.93 secs in the 100m hurdles and 27.37 secs in the 200m. In the combined event, Louisiane Hattenberger recorded 2200 points, Sefora Felix finished second with 2159 points and Sophie Eléonore took third place with 2058 points.

The next round which should have taken place this Saturday 02 April 2022 has been postponed to a later date due to bad weather.
