Rs 700 000. This is the amount of the loot taken from the Arts des îles Ltée factory at La Brasserie, Forest-Side between Tuesday May 16 and Wednesday morning of May 17. Thieves broke into this factory in an industrial zone to take several door and window accessories and meters of electrical wire.
The owner of this company, 67 years old and living in the locality, reported this case of burglary to the police station of Curepipe. It is in the late afternoon of Tuesday May 16 at about 14:30 to 8:30 on Wednesday morning May 7 that this theft was committed. A metal curtain at the back of this factory and a glass panel were broken to allow the perpetrators of this theft to access the interior.
They were able to get their hands on door locks, sliding door locks, stainless steel rollers for doors and windows, door and window hinges, decorative glass objects, automatic locks for doors and windows, portable machines, more than a few meters of electrical wire, two aluminum swings, aluminum filing cabinets and windows and doors among others.
This factory is not under surveillance, according to its owner. The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Curepipe was seized of this case.
