Agalega: What To Do After PSAC?

They were only 5 candidates to take part to the PSAC exams. Out of the only girl and four boys from the Jacques le Chartier GS, three passed with encouraging results. The Total Grade Aggregate for Joseph Mateo Sababady is 4 units and 6 units for Jonas Angel Sababady and Mary Shelby Hill. They are promoted to Grade 7 classes and admitted at the Medco College in Agalega.

But the concerned citizens of the island take this happening on a negative note. For them, these three prides of Agalega should have integrated a College in Mauritius instead, for a better motivation, facilities and exposure for the future.

Nevertheless, the three kids and saluted, congratulated and encouraged to go further in their studies. Even by the organisation Friends of Agalega where the leader Laval Soopramanien says, “Whether they go to a College in Mauritius or in Agalega, we congratulate and support them for a better future”. He recalled that education matters is one of his three main struggles with the government, the two other on his agenda since the past 20 years are Health and Housing.
