The Family Protection Brigade (BPF) of the Central Division was asked to investigate a case of child abuse in a crèche in Quinze Cantons, Vacoas on Friday 31 March. This case concerns a little girl aged two years and eleven months living in Les Casernes, Curepipe. She told her mother that a “miss” hit her on the cheek.
A BPF corporal recorded this statement for the girl’s mother at around 3pm on Friday 31 March. In his complaint, he stated that at about 2.15pm on Monday 27 March, she picked up her daughter from this crèche in Quinze Cantons. His daughter told him that she cried after a “miss” hit her on the cheek.
The child could not give the name of the crèche assistant. Her mother told the police that she does not know if her child will be able to identify any of the three employees who work with her daughter. The child was not injured, her parents declined to have her examined at the Dr A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port Louis.
