A Complaint Against The Opposition Members For Illegal Demonstration

Must Read

This morning, the members of the opposition parties held a pacific demonstration in front of Parliament. They asked for the resignation of Pravind Jugnauth. However, at one point in time, they were told by the police that the rally contained more than 11 persons. It was thus illegal. They were forced to disperse. However, they argued that Pravind Jugnauth should resign, that he lied and that it is clear there was an intervention on the SAFE cable.

ASP Seeparsand has filed a complaint against the opposition MPs for illegal demonstration. He explained that at around 11:30 a.m., MPs from various opposition parties gathered in front of Parliament with placards and demanded the resignation of the Prime Minister. He added that other people, who were at the Place d’Armes, joined the members of Parliament. Thus, there were more than 11 people. The demonstration was therefore illegal. ASP Seeparsand maintains that Arvin Boolell and Patrick Assirvaden were warned. But they did not comply. ASP Seeparsand explained that the demonstrators even went in front of the building housing the Prime Minister’s office.
