70-Year-Old Woman Assaulted By Drug-Addicted Grandson

Must Read

A 25-year-old drug addict from Arpentaire Street, St. Croix, is being sought by officers from the Abercrombie Police Station, St. Croix, for assaulting his 78-year-old grandmother. The crime occurred on the afternoon of Sunday, September 26. The victim’s son, who tried to intervene, was almost hit with a sword held in his hand by the suspect.

In her complaint made before 17 hours on Sunday, September 26, the septuagenarian explained that the same day at around 15:30, a violent argument broke out between her and her grandson. The young man, who is a drug addict, did not like the fact that his grandmother had disposed of several needles while she was cleaning the yard. The septuagenarian wanted to point out that he is often very violent towards her.

During this argument on Sunday, her son intervened, and it is at this precise moment that her grandson grabbed a sword, whose blade measures 75 centimeters and tried to strike it at her neck. Fortunately, her son was able to push him off, which caused him to lose his balance and fall. Her son, she says, picked up a piece of wood and hit him in the head.

Her grandson then ran away. She believes that if her son had not reacted promptly, he could have been fatally struck.
