20-Year-Old Bricklayer Arrested With Over Rs 600,000 Worth Of Drugs

He was suspected of being involved in illicit trafficking. The information came to light after men of the Central Division’s Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU) raided his home in Cité EDC, Rose-Belle.

Manuelito Jason Jeanneton, a 20-year-old bricklayer, was found in possession of 104 grams of synthetic drugs, with a street value of Rs 520,000 and 10 grams of heroin, which is valued at Rs 150,000. The police also found the sum of Rs 10,000, which is suspected to be from the sale of the drug.

It was around 5.30 pm on Sunday, May 15, that Sergeant Gokhool’s men arrived at Jason Jeanneton’s house. With a search warrant, the place was searched. The search yielded 104 grams of synthetic drugs, 10 grams of heroin and the sum of Rs 10,000. The young man is suspected of being involved in drug trafficking.

In addition, the police have been asked to investigate the possibility that the young man might be involved in drug trafficking. He was brought before the Mahébourg court on Monday morning, May 16, and was later returned to his cell.
